May the Grace and Peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be among us and within us! Amen. <\/p>\n

My wife and I had a friend who passed away, 8 years ago, in her mid-40s. Her husband shared his thoughts with us saying, \u201cTo marry to someone means to experience a painful separation anyway.\u201d
\nThere is a famous actress and singer in Japan named, Yuki Saito. One of her hit songs is called \u201cKanashimiyo Konnichiwa\u201d meaning \u201cHello Sadness\u201d in English and \u201cBonjour Tristesse\u201d in French. She sings that \u201ca number of encounters is the same as that of separations.\u201d If you meet someone, you always say good bye. Do you think it\u2019s true that when you meet someone and there will be always a time of separation? <\/p>\n

In the Gospel that I read a few minutes ago, Jesus said, \u201cBlessed are the poor in spirit,\u201d and \u201cBlessed are those who mourn.\u201d We may want to ask \u201cWhy?\u201d Jesus says, \u201cBlessed are the poor in spirit because theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, because they are comforted.\u201d
\nTo begin with, What does \u201cpoor in spirit\u201d mean? I believe this includes situations when we experience a painful separation from someone we love and we starve for peace of mind. \u201cThose who mourn\u201d are people who are in the depths of sadness. <\/p>\n

In those situations, the love of Jesus Christ, the savior of the world comes to you. Jesus Christ taught and showed that your earthly death is not the end of your life. Jesus showed us this through his life, through his death on the cross and resurrection from the cross. Emmanuel Jesus promised us that He is with us eternally. Those who are starving for peace of mind, those who are in the depths of sadness will be in the kingdom and will be comforted.
\nStarvation in spirit is surely filled with God\u2019s grace. Even when you are in the midst of sadness. Jesus is the doorway to hope and joy. Because of Him, the Savior and Redeemer of the world, you are with Him. And surely the people who returned to their eternal home before us, such as our departed loved ones, are with the Redeemer now. <\/p>\n

Although it is sung that the number of encounters is the same as the number of separations, there is one special encounter which does not end with separation. It is not true that the number of encounters is the same as the number of separations. If you see Jesus, the Savior and the Redeemer, and through faith in Christ, there is no separation. Through the Father, through His Son, and through the Holy Spirit, all of our loved ones and we are worshipping together and honoring the eternal Savior. Amen.

She sings that \u201ca number of encounters is the same as that of separations.\u201d If you meet someone, you always say good bye. Do you think it\u2019s true that when you meet someone and there will be always a time of separation? In the Gospel that I read a few minutes ago, Jesus said, \u201cBlessed are the poor in spirit,\u201d and \u201cBlessed are those who mourn.\u201d We may want to ask \u201cWhy?\u201d Jesus says, \u201cBlessed are the poor in spirit because theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, because they are comforted.\u201d To begin with, What does \u201cpoor in spirit\u201d mean? I believe this includes situations when we experience a painful separation from someone we love and we starve for peace of mind. \u201cThose who mourn\u201d are people who are in the depths of sadness.
