BISHOP FINCK TO LEAD CONVERSATION

All are welcome to participate in our conversation related to our Japanese MinistryandLCR’s commitment to a multicultural ministry. Bishop Finck will facilitate the discussion on Saturday, November 19 between 9 a.m. and noon.

 

                                            JAPANESE MINISTRY CELEBRATES 23RD ANNIVERSARY

Congratulations are extended to our Japanese Ministry as they celebrate 23 years of faithful ministry   at LCR. We have been honored by their support and inspired by their commitment to share the values and culture of their tradition. As members of LCR, we are grateful for the way Japanese Ministry has integrated itself into the whole life of thecongregation. Our ministry has been enriched by their faithfulness and enerosity of spirit.

                                            Friendship Task Force

FLOWER ARRANGING

The Friendship Task Force (FTF)
Committee is sponsoring a Thanksgiving flower arranging class on Saturday, November
19, from 1:00 to 3:00 (please note the new time for this class only).
Mrs. Lin will assist us in creating beautiful fall centerpieces. Sign-ups for
this class begin on Sunday, October 30. The cost is $20 and, as always, you are
asked to bring a pie tin or other container for your arrangement, and a pair of
scissors.

                                          JAPANESE MINISTRY ANNIVERSARY

On Sunday, November 20, LCR’s Japanese Ministry is celebrating their
23rd anniversary with a special service. Both Pastor Tateno and Pastor Itoh
will be visiting LCR for the event. At that time, FTF will present to them a
$2000 check for the Japanese Disaster Relief. This is the money which was
raised by the generosity of those attending the Japan Festival last July.
Pastor Tateno will be the guest speaker on that day. After the service, there
will be a potluck meal. Everyone is welcome to attend this celebration,
especially those congregants who went to Hiroshima last year, and those who are
traveling to Nagasaki next year. FTF Japanese Ministry for their 23 years of
faithful service to LCR.

One spot for a female participant of the Nagasaki Mission Tour has
opened. The trip will take place October 11-22, 2012. If you are interested in
this opportunity, please contact Fumi Liang.

 

                                     CHERRY BLOSSOM TIME

Though it seems a long way off, we are asking you to mark your calendars now for the Sunday, April 29 Cherry Blossom Luncheon. At that time, FTF will be hosting a luncheon authentic Japanese food, and beautiful music presented by the choral group”Grace Notes”. The luncheon will be held after the one service at 10:00. Tickets will be on sale in early April.
