主イエスキリストが私たちの間にいっしょにいてくださいますように！ アーメン
わたしたちの友人で40代半ばにしてなくなった方がいる。彼女のご主人は、「結婚するということは、必ずいつかは辛い別れを経験するということだった。」としみじみ語ってくれた。
斉藤由紀のヒット曲、「悲しみよこんにちは」の歌詞の中では、「出会いと同じ数の別れがある」と歌っている。 出会いがあれば、いつかは必ず悲しい別れがある。確かにと感じる面はある。 しかし、本当に、出会いの数と別れの数は同じなのだろうか。
今日のイエスの言葉、「心の貧しい人が幸い。」 とか、「悲しむ人が幸い。」という言葉が出てきて、どうして？と言いたくなってしまう。イエスは、天の国は、心の貧しい人のものだからと言われる。 また、悲しむ人は、慰められると言われる。
そもそも、心の貧しいとはどういうことなのだろうか? わたしたちが経験したように、愛するものを亡くす体験、配偶者だったり、父親母親、あるいは子供、親しい友人を亡くすような体験も含まれるのだと思う。神の前で霊的に飢え乾いてしまっている場合を指すのだろう。また、悲しむ人とは、別れを体験して、悲しみの中にある状況をさしているともいえるのだろう。
そのような状況で、イエスの愛は迫ってくる。 そして、イエスはその生涯を通して、人間の死は、死で終わりではないという事を教えている。イエスは、天においてもいっしょにいてくださるということを約束してくださっている。 だから神の前で飢え渇いているものも、悲しみにあるものも、天に行けるし、主イエスの慰めに授かることができる。
現実問題、私の配偶者、家族、知人はクリスチャンになることはなかったけれどもと心配される方がいる。しかし、今日この場にいて、キリストの民の群れと一緒に、信仰を告白する中で、神は、「あなたの信仰が、彼を（あるいは彼女）を救ったという事もイエスは言われる方。おこがましい言い方かも知れないが、毎週の礼拝は、そこに集まる者だけではなく、集まっている者たちの家族や隣人のためにも守られている。
霊的な飢えは、かならず、神の恵みで満たされる。また、悲しみのどん底にあろうが、悲しみが悲しみのまま終わるということはない。かならず、夢と希望に満ちる扉が見えてくる。救い主イエスの信仰さえあれば。人生なにがあろうが、復活の主イエスといっしょである。この世を先に去った家族も、今はイエスといっしょにおられる。
ここで出会いの数と別れの数が同じなのかどうかの問題に戻りたい。別れが来ない出会いがひとつある。私は、イエスに会えば、出会いの数は、別れの数より一つ多いのだと思う。そしてイエスと出会っていれば、イエスを通して、先に天に召された家族、友人もいっしょに、今、イエスを礼拝している。 私たちは、イエスを通して、天に召された方々とも再会の機会が与えられる。 アーメン

Matthew 5: 1-12
May the Grace and Peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be among us and within us! Amen.
My wife and I had a friend who passed away, 8 years ago, in her mid-40s. Her husband shared his thoughts with us saying, “To marry to someone means to experience a painful separation anyway.”
There is a famous actress and singer in Japan named, Yuki Saito. One of her hit songs is called “Kanashimiyo Konnichiwa” meaning “Hello Sadness” in English and “Bonjour Tristesse” in French. She sings that “a number of encounters is the same as that of separations.” If you meet someone, you always say good bye. Do you think it’s true that when you meet someone and there will be always a time of separation?
In the Gospel that I read a few minutes ago, Jesus said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit,” and “Blessed are those who mourn.” We may want to ask “Why?” Jesus says, “Blessed are the poor in spirit because theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, because they are comforted.”
To begin with, What does “poor in spirit” mean? I believe this includes situations when we experience a painful separation from someone we love and we starve for peace of mind. “Those who mourn” are people who are in the depths of sadness.
In those situations, the love of Jesus Christ, the savior of the world comes to you. Jesus Christ taught and showed that your earthly death is not the end of your life. Jesus showed us this through his life, through his death on the cross and resurrection from the cross. Emmanuel Jesus promised us that He is with us eternally. Those who are starving for peace of mind, those who are in the depths of sadness will be in the kingdom and will be comforted.
Starvation in spirit is surely filled with God’s grace. Even when you are in the midst of sadness. Jesus is the doorway to hope and joy. Because of Him, the Savior and Redeemer of the world, you are with Him. And surely the people who returned to their eternal home before us, such as our departed loved ones, are with the Redeemer now.
Although it is sung that the number of encounters is the same as the number of separations, there is one special encounter which does not end with separation. It is not true that the number of encounters is the same as the number of separations. If you see Jesus, the Savior and the Redeemer, and through faith in Christ, there is no separation. Through the Father, through His Son, and through the Holy Spirit, all of our loved ones and we are worshipping together and honoring the eternal Savior. Amen.
